CLASSICAL BALLET PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Join us for a classical ballet portfolio building day in a clean studio environment, designed around elegant posing, strong lines, and beautiful fabric movement. This workshop is dance orientated from start to finish, with a structured flow of setups that give you both refined still frames and dynamic movement options, all lit and guided for a polished, fine art finish.

A STUDY IN LINE, SHAPE AND GRACE

This is a day built around classical training and doing it properly. We will focus on correct ballet shapes, hands, arms, turnout, and posture, so your images look spot on rather than approximate. You will be guided through lighting, timing, and posing so you leave with a cohesive set of portfolio images that feel intentional and elevated.

WHAT YOU WILL PHOTOGRAPH

Moving & posed options
You will photograph a balanced mix of still poses and movement. Each attendee will take turns shooting while the dancer runs through a selection of controlled movements, giving you multiple frames and variations from each setup, not just one repeated pose.

Classical Ballet Options
We will work through a range of classical shapes including clean lines en pointe, sculptural arm positions, and elegant transitions. The emphasis is on precision and grace, with guidance on what to look for and how to direct small refinements that make a big difference.

Fabric & Flow
A series of setups using fabric to add motion, shape, and softness. You will photograph fabric in both still and moving sequences, learning how to time the moment so it looks deliberate and beautiful rather than chaotic.

Lighting & Variations
All setups are studio based with controlled lighting and clean backgrounds. We will vary the feel across the day so you come away with a set of images that has variety while still looking like one cohesive body of work.

Small Group Experience
Limited to 8 photographers to ensure everyone gets quality shooting time and support throughout the day.

Lighting settings, posing direction, and creative guidance throughout the session.

Tea & Coffee
Help yourself throughout the day.

Buffet Lunch
We will break between 1.00pm and 2.00pm, and lunch will be provided for attendees.
