What makes Develop different is the community behind it. As members progress, more photographers are invited to contribute, so the area keeps growing with fresh lessons and real world workflows. To protect the standard of teaching, all content providers are Associate level and above.
Our resource area covers a wide range of genres and techniques. From studio portraits to location shoots, lighting and strobes, equine and canine work, landscape, fine art, and more, you get practical training you can apply straight away, with new content added weekly.
Portrait Intensive highlights give you a clear look at our workflow, from studio setup and lighting to post production, with practical techniques you can use to create stronger, more professional portraits.
I consider myself to be a reasonably proficient photographer, but with still plenty to learn, especially when it comes to lighting, studio work & post processing. i joined the Develop area early 2025 after being impressed by the tutorials in their library and I can honestly say it has been an excellent decision.
The variety and the quality of the tutorials are outstanding and I really appreciate the way the team share their knowledge so openly. One particular valuable aspect is the detailed constructive feedback on the monthly competition entries.
The insights and advice have been incredibly helpful in pushing my skills forward. I would highly recommend Studio Masters and the Develop area for anyone looking too develop their photography and take their work to the next level.
I watched the October IoM assessments on the Develop module yesterday and I have to say, after personally being involved in other photographic societies for around a decade, it is extraordinary value you get with your membership with this platform.
Personalised detailed feedback that not only explains why your image got the score it did but also practical advice on how to go about improving your work that is specific to your photography based on the images you provide.
I've never seen anything so specific anywhere else in the world of photography that didn't involve a more considerable outlay of money to access such knowledge and all included in your membership fees for no extra cost. One of the, many, reasons I am happy to be involved here.
Photography has always been part of my life, but after a confidence knock when I asked a well known society for lighting help, my little home studio sat unused for years.
After joining Develop in summer 2025, I emailed Salli and Mike about how deflated I felt. Salli rang me and she and Mike came to my home studio to show me what was possible in the space.
We had two brilliant days testing lighting options and creating images I am truly proud of. The sessions were recorded and will be added to Develop soon, which will be a huge help for others, and for me when I need a refresher.
My confidence is back and im eager to get going with projects.
At the last shoot I attended at Salli's Home Studio Cambridgeshire we both spoke about editing images, post processing. I took salli's advice to try the Develop area on a non contract basis, monthly. Finding the Post Processing photohop fundamental sessions easy too follow, replicate and with practice gave me some amazing results.
Watching the ediitng process, lighting set up's, tip's on image selection I have found that there is so much to learn that will improve every aspect of my photography.
I changed to an annual subscription to learn at ease and also for the value of money from monthly to annual. Amazing Material covering all aspects of photography (Camera, Assessing, Lighting, Post Porcessing, Final Image) delivered in clear easy steps. Thank You!
I joined Develop as soon as it launched and it has become a brilliant learning hub within the British Photographers Alliance. The content is updated regularly, supports all levels, and the community is welcoming and encouraging.
With training, Zoom sessions, and workshops delivered by Studio Masters and other BPA educators, there is always something new to learn and a clear pathway to progress.
