Workshop Overview

If you want repeatable lighting results, not theory, this workshop is built for you. Across one high impact day, Sally and Mike will work through 21 distinct lighting patterns/ variations, demonstrated with speedlights and AD200s, using consumer modifiers that keeps everything comfortably within the budget of most photographers. Every setup is designed so you can recreate it at home, practise it properly, and start shaping light with confidence on your own clients and personal work.

This is lighting with purpose, not lighting for the sake of it. For every setup we will show you the exact placement, explain what every light is doing and why, what it is changing, then capture the shot tethered, so you can see the result instantly as we shoot our way through the day.

You will also go home with a PDF of every lighting diagram from the day, so you can repeat, refine, and finesse each pattern until it becomes second nature.

Why This Workshop Matters

This workshop matters because lighting is the skill that makes results consistent, and most photographers never get the chance to practise it in a structured, repeatable way. This is not a day of watching random setups for inspiration. It is a high intensity, practical workshop built around 21 proven lighting variations, with clear explanation of what each light is doing and why, so attendees understand how to control shape, depth, separation, and mood with purpose.

It is also designed to be achievable at home. Everything is demonstrated with speedlights and AD200s using consumer modifiers, so you can recreate the setups without blowing the budget. Everyone leaves with a PDF of every lighting diagram, making it easy to practise, repeat, and finesse the patterns until they become second nature.

  • A notebook and pen for key takeaways, questions, and the why behind each setup
  • A few example images of your own work on your phone, if you want advice on how to light for a specific look or fix a specific problem
